Fire Response Team Training SECTION 2: PROCEDURES All members of the Fire Response Team will be trained in the following areas: I. Members A. Security Officers B. Facilities Management Personnel C. Specific Housekeeping Personnel II. Elements A. Fire Behavior 1. Principles of Fire Behavior a. Fuel Characteristics b. The Burning Process c. Phases of Fire 2. Thermal Layering of Gases 3. Products of Fire 4. Fire Extinguishment Theory 5. Classification of Fires and Extinguishment Methods a. Class A Fires b. Class B Fires c. Class C Fires d. Class D Fires e. Class K Fires B. Portable Extinguishers 1. Extinguisher Rating System 2. Selecting and Using Portable Fire extinguishers 3. Types of Portable Fire Extinguishers C. Evacuation D. Fire Alarms and Communications E. Hazard Communications 1. Types of chemicals on premise 2. Labeling F. Sprinkler Valve and Sprinkler Pump Protocol III. Testing A. All Fire Team members will pass an exam consisting of 20 to 30 questions derived from the material outlined in the Elements section. B. The score shall be a minimum of 80% without correction. C. Person(s) having college fire training classes or who are currently firemen may test out of the training; however, scoring below 80% will mean remediation to the training class. |
